The TERRA boys basketball team looks to defeat the Southridge Spartans on senior night on Friday, January 31st. The boys basketball team is graduating seven seniors: Jonathan Dominguez, Giovani Vasquez, Roberto Martinez, Francisco Santiago, Cyril Deas, Luis Lopez, and Sebastian Blanco. They will play their last home game at the Wolves Den. “ They worked hard all year long and gave it their all,” said manager Ryan Dominguez. The 2019-2020 season for the Wolves has been one full of adversity. A season full of key wins, yet many heart-breaking last minute losses.
The Wolves are currently 7-8 with 7 regular season games remaining. As they mentally prepare for Reagan Thursday night, they look to make history. TERRA is one win away from breaking the school record for all time wins. “ The team is playing for something bigger than themselves and want to leave their own stamp on the program,” expressed Assistant Coach Luis Fuentes.
The boys have pulled together and shown they can compete against every team they’ve faced. At the moment they’re underdogs and hold the pen to the script with the opportunity to write their own fairy-tale ending. “I think as a team, we’ve really improved in closing out games. We are showing teams not to take us lightly, “ said Coach Graham. Senior night looks to be the perfect storybook ending, but it’s up to the Wolves to unfold the end of a historic run!
